Brain Rescue - Rehydration

August 13, 2017

Other than the heart, the brain is the most important organ in the body. Taking care of your brain is very important and can drastically affect your well-being . No one wants to feel groggy, slow, dull or forgetful, which are just some of the results of dehydration. A large percentage of US adults are not drinking enough water which is negatively affecting their mental performance. According to Phoenix Neurological Associates, common signs of dehydration are "thirst, dry mouth, dry eyes, muscle fatigue or cramping, dry skin, headache, dizziness, a drop in blood pressure, irritability, dark urine, and infrequent urination." The brain is made up of mostly water so to make sure it is functioning properly, make sure to drink about 2.7-3.7 liters of water a day, according to the National Academy of Medicine. If you are feeling these symptoms it is a great idea to get a glass of water or two. Many times the reason for dehydration is the fact that plain water is so boring.
